History

“...when God gave me brothers, no one showed me what I should do, but the Most high revealed to me that I should live according to the form of the holy gospel.”

In order to better understand the Friars Minor Capuchins (O.F.M. Cap.), one must first understand their history.

Feast of Saint Nicholas-Prayer for Vocations

Feast of Saint Nicholas-Prayer for Vocations

Feast of Saint Nicholas Almighty and eternal God, in your unfailing love you provide ministers for your Church. We pray for those whom you may call to serve as Capuchin Franciscans friars. Inspire in them a generous response. Grant them courage and vision to serve your people. May their lives and service call your people to respond to the presence of your Spirit among us that, faithful to the Gospel and hope of Jesus the Christ, we may: announce glad tidings to the poor, proclaim liberty to captives, set prisoners free and renew the face of the earth. Lord God, as you led St. Nicholas to feed your sheep by his word, and guide them by his example, give us grace to keep the faith which he taught, and to follow in his footsteps: through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
