Fr. Tom McNamara, O.F.M., Cap. a friar from the St. Mary Province of the Capuchin Franciscans is one of the chaplains here at Capuchin Youth & Family Ministries.  One of 6 children, he hails from a small town in the Mohawk Valley in central New York State and felt a call to the priesthood and religious life after spending several years working in the landscape industry and then teaching High School Agriculture for several more until he finally started listening more carefully to the Lord’s voice. His journey with the Capuchins has offered him the opportunity to work in the Spanish-speaking community, culminating with two years mission work in Ocotepeque, Honduras.  Fr. Tomás, as he is known here at CYFM, works as part of the retreat team engaging our youth and families in their relationship with Jesus Christ.  “It’s a great time to be Catholic, and a great time to be a Franciscan Capuchin brother,” he says.  Proud of the history of the Capuchin Friars here in Garrison, he looks forward to working with the CYFM team to create strong youth, families, and parishes throughout New York and New England.  You may contact Fr.
